A cards-only fantasy adventure game set in a medieval landscape reclaimed by nature.

Quest, barter, and battle as you rally the realm to your cause. Befriend townsfolk, wizards, and monsters... or crush them beneath your iron fist.

In Fleabite, you write your own story.

Will it be one of benevolence, or destruction?

Concept: an accessible, medium weight, thematic game that can be played in 30 minutes with the same number of cards as a standard deck of playing cards. Just 54 unique cards, a rules sheet, and you'll be playing in no time!

Number of Players: 1-4. The game can be played solo, versus, or even cooperatively! Planned expansions will add the ability to increase the player count to 5, 6, or more...

Course of Play: Draw a card of your choice, select your hand, and go forth! Play cards strategically to earn Crowns, or keep them in your hand to mess with your opponents later!

Natural End: The game ends when any one deck runs out of cards, or when three unfinished Quests have been discarded. The game usually ends between 30-45 minutes, so be ready for a quick, punchy battle!

Mechanics: hand management, trading/negotiation, action management, engine building, strategic card draw, role-playing, push your luck, take-that, hand-building, and more...

Innovative Gameplay:

  • No cost cards: keep them in your hand, play them in front of you, or discard them for a special ability. There is nothing stopping you from playing a card your way!

  • Trade-Friendly: Any cards you control may be traded with other players, even Quests you've completed! Sweeten the deal to entice unlikely allies to aid you, or to persuade them not to attack you!

  • Well-Researched: I make sure each and every card I create has a solid root in history, warfare, or myhtology. Trade goods, medieval practices, and warfare items are all grounded in reality-or based on folklore!

  • Reputation tracker: if you slay a card, rotate it upside down and attach it to your banner. Your actions have consequences, so choose them wisely. Most hand cards add or subtract Crowns when slain!

  • Dangerous playing field: Once a card is played, it can be messed with! Be sure to have a defense in mind or get used to thinking on your feet. Negotiation is key, so be ready for some rowdy table talk!

  • Seize those Crowns: Earn Crowns by collecting cards, slaying cards, and completing Quests. Cards themselves may have a Crown value. Do you save them for points, or use them and lose them?

  • Build your engine: Quests you complete grant rewards, scoring bonuses, or an ongoing ability that can vastly effect gameplay! Which adventures will you go on to accomplish your goals?

  • Story-driven gameplay: Designed with roleplaying in mind, Fleabite can be played purely as a strategy game, or with as much story as your group can imagine. With each new game, comes a new tale that you create!

  • What is a hand-builder? Similar to a deck-builder, a hand-builder allows you to customize your play experience. You may add as many cards as you wish to your collection but must choose only 5 to use each round!

  • Portable, accessible, whimsical: Fleabite uses minimal components, takes up a reasonable amount of space, and is inviting to new players. Easy to learn, impossible to master, this fantastical game will bring out the kid in you.
